Do you store the numbers I enter into the calculator or tracker?
No. Everything you type into the loan calculator and the Income/Debt Tracker is processed and saved only in your own browser's local storage. It's never sent to or seen by any server we operate. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How accurate is the loan verdict (Favorable, Caution, Risky)?
The verdict is based on the effective annual interest rate (EIR) calculated from the numbers you enter, compared against general reference points for interest rates in the Philippines. See our Methodology page for the exact thresholds. It's a starting estimate for education, not a professional or legal opinion on any specific loan.
What is the "Hatol" (Verdict) shown on the calculator?
The Hatol is a debt-to-income verdict that combines your existing debts and income (from the Income/Debt Tracker) with the new loan you're checking, to estimate what percentage of your monthly income would go to debt payments. It only appears once you've logged at least one income entry in the Tracker — otherwise you'll see a general tip instead.
Why does the Hatol need my income and debt info from the Tracker?
Without knowing your income and existing debt, we can only tell you if a loan's interest rate looks high or low in general. With that information, we can tell you something more useful: whether taking this specific loan, on top of what you already owe, is something your income can actually support.
Can I use utangfree.com if I'm not in the Philippines?
Yes. The calculator supports the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, China, and India. The know-your-rights guide and articles are currently written for the Philippines.
Does utangfree.com show ads?
