utangfree.com ("we," "us," "our") is a free tool that helps borrowers in the Philippines and Southeast Asia check whether a loan offer looks fair before they sign. This page explains what data we handle — including if you create a free account — and how advertising on this site works.
Using the free tools without an account
The loan calculator, guides, articles, and Income/Debt Tracker don't require an account. The loan amount, payment, and term you enter are processed entirely in your own browser and saved only to your device's local storage, so the tool can remember your last entry. That information is never sent to, or seen by, any server we operate.
If you create a free account
Some features — like reporting a flagged lender, replying to reports, or the Financial Notebook — require a free account. If you sign up, we collect and store: your email address, a securely hashed version of your password (we never store your actual password), and your name. If you sign in with Google instead, we receive your name, email, and Google account ID from Google — we never see or store your Google password.
Anything you choose to add to your profile — nickname, bio, goal, location, and a profile or header photo — is stored on our servers and used to personalize your account and, where relevant, what's shown to other visitors (such as your name on a report you submit). You can edit or remove any of this at any time from My Profile.
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in between visits. This cookie only identifies your session — it isn't used for advertising or tracking across other sites.
Cookies and advertising
This site may show ads served by Google AdSense and its advertising partners. Google and third-party vendors use cookies — including the DoubleClick DART cookie — to serve ads based on a visitor's prior visits to this site and other sites on the internet. This allows Google and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to utangfree.com and/or other sites.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. If you're in a region covered by the Digital Advertising Alliance, you can also visit www.aboutads.info to opt out of participating vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising. With your consent (via the cookie banner shown on your first visit), utangfree.com uses Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site — for example, which pages get read and where people get stuck. Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your choices
You can clear your browser's local storage at any time to remove any data the calculator has saved on your device, disable cookies entirely in your browser settings, or use the Google Ads Settings link above to limit personalized advertising. If you have an account, you can update or remove your profile details and photos anytime from My Profile. To delete your account entirely, email us at the address below.
